2011 Field Season Under Way

Fieldwork has started at Puffin Island for the 2011 breeding season. In common with other populations around the UK, the shags have started particularly early this year. Monitoring of birds for the SMP will be led by James Shooter from Bangor University. Louise Soanes has restarted her GPS tracking of shags to continue her work from last year. This year we will also be tracking razorbills and guillemots for the RSPB's FAME project, let by Steve Dodd. The first deployments were made this week.........
